An inspection is a look at the actual condition of your chimney, and a straight account of what was found. It is useful when something feels off but you cannot say what, or when you want to know where a unit stands before deciding to service or replace it.

The technician checks and reports on:
- Suction performance at the hood.
- Condition of the filters and the degree of grease build-up.
- Motor and blower - sound, vibration and running behaviour.
- Visible wiring connections, switch, touch panel and lamps.
- Ducting: visible blockage, damage, crushed sections or excessive bends.
- Mounting - whether the unit is secure on the wall.
- Oil collector and any leakage from the body.
You are told in plain language what is fine, what needs attention now and what can wait.

An inspection is a check, not a repair or a cleaning. If work is needed, the technician will tell you what it is and what it costs; whether it is carried out on the same visit depends on the work, the parts required and your agreement. An inspection also cannot certify that no fault will ever develop - it reports the condition on the day.
